For the several days I’ve been sitting in a geodesic dome on a remote spot of the Baja California coastline, and taking time to think.

It’s been two months since I decided to embark on a new life journey, destination undefined, leaving behind an 11-year career of growing the global software developer ecosystem at Google. I had no immediate plans other than traveling, contemplating life, and unwinding.

Then: rest led to contemplation. Contemplation led to curiosity. Curiosity led to learning.

And of course, builders gotta build.

So I’ve started building again, slowly. The first product is this website, Andy[x]: a platform for sharing my discoveries and projects. Currently available on the Web and Substack.

I believe simultaneously in pursuing serendipity, and in building with purpose. To encapsulate these somewhat contradictory ideas, I’ve created a prospectus for Andy[x] which describes my current north star.

I love the origin of the word prospectus, which means “to outline something that didn’t yet exist, describing what it would become”, so writing my own prospectus for my creative endeavors was the first step.

A brief excerpt from the Andy[x] Prospectus:

Andy[x] is my “creative incubator” (studio-meets-lab) for freely exploring new ideas and projects, after 11 years of working at Google.

Areas of initial pursuit (as of May 2025) include applied AI, RF communication (terrestrial and LEO), music, transportation systems (automated and human-controlled), writing (fiction, non-fiction, linear, and interactive), travel, art (digital and analog), cybernetics, and programming.

These pursuits may yield research insights, new products, and/or new creative works. (Or not.)

And because my current projects and travel ultimately all fall under Andy[x], I’ve merged the existing Substack lists I’ve been leading into a single Andy[x] mailing list.

This is literally the journey of a lifetime, and I’d be glad to have you along for the ride! If any of this intrigues you, keep track of what’s happening either via this website or the mailing list.
